Our first Sizzlin’ Summer Recipe comes to us from Kelli B author of The Inspired Collection.  Kelli loves design, DIY projects, and of course recipes.  She is a newlywed and a mom to an absolutely adorable chocolate lab.  Kelli is sharing one of her favorite recipes with us – Dessert Kabob’s!

  • 1 lemon pound cake
  • 2 boxes strawberries
  • White chocolate
  • Kabob sticks

Cut the lemon pound cake into squares and cap the strawberries.

Place the pound cake and the strawberries on the kabobs, alternating between pound cake and strawberries.

Next up melt your white chocolate.  Kellie has found that the best way to melt the chocolate is by using a double boiler.  If you do not have a double boiler you can make your own by boiling a pot of water and then placing a stainless bowl on top of the pot of boiling water.  You can add a little oil to help thin out your chocolate.

After the chocolate is melted move it to a plastic bag, cut off the corner and gently squeeze the chocolate all over the kabobs.  Place the kabobs in the fridge for about 30 minutes so the chocolate will hard and be ready for serving.

Delicious!!  Cannot wait to try these for myself!

You can check out some of Kelli’s other amazing ideas on her blog, facebook, and also on pinterest.  Go show her some love!
