Ham & Cheese Turnovers–Large Pizza Stone

Here is a quick meal that is sure to please the whole family!

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

1 1-pound package refrigerated pizza dough

8 ounces deli ham, thinly sliced

1/2 yellow onion, cut into thin rings.  I used the Simple Slicer

2 tsp whole-grain mustard

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

1 small head romaine, torn into pieces.  I used the Salad Chopper

Directions:

1.  Heat oven to 400 F.  Roll the pizza dough into a 14-in circle on the Large Pizza Stone With Handles.  Cut into 8 triangles with the Pizza Cutter.

2.  Stack a piece of the ham, cheese, and onion on the bottom of each triangle and roll the dough up and around the filling.  (Some of the filling will stick out the ends.)

3.  Bake until golden and crisp, about 20 minutes.

4.  Combine the mustard and oil in a medium bowl and toss with the romaine.  Serve with the turnovers.

Tip

These turnovers can be assembled, wrapped tightly, and then refrigerated 12 hours in advance.  Once cooked, they will last for 5 days in the refrigerator.
